About The Position

As a Mechanical Engineer - Projects and Maintenance, you will troubleshoot, analyze, schedule, mechanical design, and part specification. Research, plans, and designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems, and directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university majoring in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
2 years related experience and/or training
Knowledgeable in the areas of industrial hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC machine controls, robotics, blueprint interpretation, and precision measurement techniques.

Responsibilities

Research and analyze data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
Designs products or systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines, and mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems.
Plans and directs engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and development of methods and procedures for testing products or systems.
Directs and coordinates fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
Directly supervises 2 - 10 employees in Technical Support.
Coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment.
Designs products and systems to interface machines, hardware, and software.
Evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
Participates in project management for assigned projects.
Research and analyze data such as root cause and failure analysis to help reduce downtime.
Takes historical data, and compiles and analyzes it to offer suggestions to improve overall machine reliability and performance.
Reviews the PM system to help improve machine performance and reliability.
Works with manufacturers and vendors to help solve problems with their equipment.
Develops procedures for machine repair processes to standardize rebuilds, repairs, and PM’s.
Sources parts for better prices and reliability.
Reviews parts usage to determine problem areas.
Participates in task teams.
Assist with SAP related issues.
Participates in maintenance and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment.
Evaluates and offers input on design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
Use of CAD to provide drawing for new or modified mechanical/structural parts.
Participates in and/or manages projects related to machinery and/or automation.
Also assist with the daily repairs as needed
