ROCKWOOL is seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Project Engineer to join our Group Technology team! This position requires travel of 60%, both internationally and nationally, and the ability to relocate for extended time periods to project sites. We are unable to provide sponsorship for this position. Travel the world and contribute your solid understanding of practical site installation supervision as you work with a great team of talented engineers! You’ll have the opportunity to work on projects for extended periods of time in the U.S., Canada, Europe and/or Asia. Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 4+ years working in a similar position, with site installation, mechanical design, machine construction, design specifications
  • 3D modelling using Inventor or a similar program
  • Ability to travel both nationally and internationally 60% of the time
  • Extended periods of presence at project sites are required, ie. temporary relocation
  • Strong communication skills
  • Adhere to confidentiality with proprietary processes

Responsibilities

  • Be instrumental in the delivery of mechanical and plumbing utilities to ensure that all buildings, and all process equipment demand for utilities are fulfilled, including supply strategy, dimensioning and back-up considerations.
  • Work with design, installation, commissioning, and running-in of major projects, including ensuring all equipment within the factory are supplied where required including: main utility supply strategy, tank requirements and installations, pump supply, dimensioning and redundancy (back-up supply) considerations.
  • Take full responsibility for project execution: mechanical, plumbing and fire protection utilities.
  • Ensure that the necessary expertise from other departments - environment, safety, MMR’s, are included in the solutions.
  • Communicate and supervise suppliers/contractors to place orders and follow up to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Ensure all documentation / reporting is done and archived following company directives and Group Technology rules, and available tools.
  • Partake in budgeting and the development of tender material for suppliers.
  • Adhere to company’s code of conduct / values while representing company at all times.
