Mechanical Engineer - Product Development
About The Position
This role assists in the design, development, testing, and deployment of machinery and processes for automated manufacturing of mass customized dental devices using pre-established guidelines. The Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with Electrical Engineers, Control Engineers, and the build team, verifying correct fit and function of assemblies, and assisting with hands-on prototyping as required. This position also involves researching new technologies, software, processes, materials, and suppliers, and performing development process tests as needed. Other related duties and projects will be assigned as business needs require.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or minimum five (5) years of related experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in field.
- Demonstrated work experience applying polymer processing methods.
- Experience with SolidWorks and analysis tools
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance
- Advanced skills in the MS Office suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Must possess effective oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel in a professional and effective manner.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, testing, and deployment of machinery and processes for automated manufacturing of mass customized dental devices using pre-established guidelines.
- Assist with the design of sub-systems and/or elements of automated machinery.
- Assist with the creation of drawings, documents, and bill of materials for fabrication and assembly.
- Assist with the research of new technologies, software, processes, materials, and suppliers.
- Assist with performing tests for development processes as needed.
- Collaborate with Electrical Engineers, Control Engineers, and build team.
- Verify correct fit and function of assemblies.
- Assist build team with hands on prototyping as required.
- Perform other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
