About The Position

This position is hybrid, requiring a minimum of 3 days in the office per week, typically Tuesday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work from home on the remaining workdays. Candidates must also be able to travel to plant sites when needed, approximately 6-8 days per month, with the potential for longer durations. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering from an accredited university (required)
  • EIT (highly preferred) – or ability to obtain EIT within one year of employment (required)
  • Ability to obtain unescorted access at an operating or construction nuclear plant (required)
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical design codes (ASME, ANSI, API, NFPA)
  • Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous design experience related to modifications in nuclear (DOE or commercial) plants (preferred)
  • 4+ years' experience working with multiple operating nuclear clients and vendors (preferred)
  • Additional software skills including Bluebeam, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Vault, Plant3D, Inventor, ReCap, SolidWorks, FARO Scene, and other 3D rendering programs (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of deliverables for nuclear projects within the Mechanical and/or Nuclear discipline
  • Report to an assigned Project Engineer and act as a Design Engineer for Mechanical and/or Nuclear projects
  • Be responsible for working with other engineers and designers to prepare design change packages for modifications at operating nuclear plants and other associated nuclear facilities
  • Be proficient in preparation of engineering change packages (EC’s)
  • Conduct field walkdowns to determine existing configuration of plant structures, systems, and components
  • Follow a strict adherence to mechanical codes and standards
