About The Position

As a Summer Intern at Black & Veatch, you will play a meaningful role in addressing some of the world’s most critical infrastructure challenges. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to diverse, impactful projects that support our clients’ goals while fostering your professional growth and advancing the success of Black & Veatch. This position could sit out of the following locations: Overland Park, KS, Ann Arbor, MI, Cary, NC. Join our team as a Mechanical Engineer within our Piping sub-discipline, where you'll support projects within our LNG or APG solution.

Requirements

No experience required.
Current enrollment in ABET accredited university in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering program.
All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

Mechanics of Materials (fatigue, creep, fracture mechanics), Statics, and Machine Design courses preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop, evaluate, and design specifications and contract drawings
Responsible for pressure boundary design and structural analysis of piping systems.
Perform variety of tasks to support engineering analyses, report production, and designs
Prepare basic calculations
Assist in basic equipment selection
Coordinate with other disciplines
Schedule project deliverables
Collect, organize, and evaluate data
Analyze systems utilizing computer modeling
