2026 Fall Mechanical Engineer Intern/Co-op
About The Position
As a Mechanical Engineering Co-op at Valves and Integrated Process Solutions, you will partner with Engineering, Tech-Ops to contribute to the testing, development and design of existing and new products. This is a 6-month co-op assignment within a functional area of MKS Instruments that provides students a comprehensive and engaging experience from before your program starts to after the program ends. It includes meaningful work and project assignments, networking opportunities with peers and executives, exposure to different divisions of the business, and an understanding of MKS Instruments’ commitment to culture & belonging. The co-op term begins in January 2026 and candidates must be available for the entire duration of the assignment.
Requirements
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program for Mechanical Engineering at University of Massachusetts Lowell
- Completed 2nd or 3rd year
- Honesty, Enthusiasm and Adaptability
- Driven to succeed
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with SolidWorks/Inventor
- Demonstrated examples of mechanical aptitude in coursework or other activities
- Presentation of projects either course related or outside interests
Responsibilities
- Participate in Lab test set-up and perform experiments
- Work with 3D CAD, learning basics of CAM/CNC to support prototyping
- Collaborate with a diverse, dynamic, multifunctional team environment
