About The Position

EEA Consulting Engineers is seeking a Mechanical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join their Industrial team. This position will allow the individual to leverage their knowledge and implement mechanical systems that optimize energy efficiency, sustainability, and functionality across multiple client projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage in innovative problem-solving, and contribute to the advancement of the built environment. The role is located in Austin, Texas and has a flexible hybrid work schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from an ABET accredited university
  • Engineer-in-Training Certification
  • Previous experience designing mechanical systems in the MEP consulting field, preferably on industrial, semiconductor, or high-tech projects
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit with a demonstrable track record of producing high-quality mechanical drawings and models
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and components, including HVAC equipment and piping systems, with knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as ASHRAE, IPC, and NFPA
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, other regulatory authorities to achieve project objectives and deliver successful outcomes
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to create detailed drawings, layouts, and schematics for various mechanical systems
  • Collaborate with senior designers and engineers to develop HVAC and plumbing system designs, assisting in the creation and modification of drawings and models to reflect design changes and requirements
  • Assist in performing load calculations and energy simulations to optimize system performance
  • Ensure that mechanical and plumbing designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations, including but not limited to ASHRAE, IPC, NFPA, and local jurisdictional requirements
  • Conduct thorough reviews of drawings and models to verify accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project standards, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or errors promptly
  • Collaborate with electrical, architectural, and structural teams to ensure mechanical systems are seamlessly integrated with all other aspects of building designs
  • Coordinate with project managers and other team members to support project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activities, ensuring timely and successful project delivery
  • Pursue opportunities for professional development and continuing education to enhance technical knowledge, skills, and expertise in mechanical design and related disciplines
