Mechanical Engineer II – Process Piping

Agile Space Industries, Inc.Tulsa, OK
Onsite

About The Position

Agile Space Industries is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I/II with a focus on process piping and fluid systems to support the design, build, and operation of propulsion test facilities. This role is responsible for developing and implementing piping systems that move hypergolic propellants, high-pressure gases, cryogenic fluids, and waste streams safely and reliably across test stands and facility infrastructure. You will work directly with senior engineers, test operations, and fabrication teams to take systems from concept through commissioning in a live propulsion test environment. This is not a purely design role. You will be expected to understand how your systems are built, operated, and stressed in the field. You are designing the systems that make the test possible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • Exposure to fluid systems or piping
  • Ability to read P&IDs and mechanical drawings
  • Familiarity with CAD tools
  • Willingness to work in hands-on environments
  • 2–5 years of experience
  • Executes portions of piping system designs independently
  • Owns small subsystems
  • Interfaces with fabrication teams
  • Supports commissioning and troubleshooting

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with process piping or industrial fluid systems
  • Familiarity with ASME B31 codes
  • Experience with high-pressure, hazardous, or cryogenic systems
  • Experience in aerospace, energy, or industrial environments

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and development of process piping systems for propulsion test facilities, including hypergolic propellant systems, high-pressure gas systems, cryogenic systems, and waste handling systems.
  • Develop and maintain P&IDs, system layouts, and piping specifications.
  • Assist in routing and layout of piping systems across test stands, ensuring maintainability, accessibility, and safe operation.
  • Support material selection and component specification for corrosive, high-pressure, and thermally dynamic environments.
  • Perform first-order engineering analyses including pressure drop, stress considerations, and thermal effects.
  • Support integration of valves, regulators, instrumentation, and safety systems.
  • Participate in hazard-aware design including pressure safety, isolation, venting, and purge strategies.
  • Generate and review fabrication drawings, isometrics, and installation packages.
  • Provide hands-on support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
  • Troubleshoot fluid system issues and support root cause investigations.
  • Maintain configuration control and ensure accurate as-built documentation.
  • Collaborate with Test Operations to ensure systems are operable and maintainable.

Benefits

  • Generous health coverage
  • Dental and vision plans
  • Flexible Time Off
  • Parental leave
