About The Position

This detail-oriented individual, as part of the Mechanical Engineering team, will be responsible for supporting mechanical design, documentation, testing, and product development activities under the guidance of more experienced engineers. The role involves working on well-defined tasks, contributing to smaller assignments, and building foundational knowledge of engineering principles, products, and manufacturing processes while supporting team objectives. This position does not have any direct reports. This position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Manager. This role is onsite and is based in Oviedo, FL.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • 1+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
  • Foundational understanding of mechanical design principles.
  • Basic proficiency with CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn manufacturing processes and product-development practices.
  • Ability to work both independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively within a team.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship, co-op, or academic project experience in mechanical design or product development.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with testing, prototyping, or product validation.
  • Exposure to plumbing products, valves, fixtures, or related mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support mechanical design and development activities for fixtures, valves, and ancillary components
  • Create and revise basic 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Assist with lab testing, prototype evaluation, and data collection
  • Support documentation of test results, design changes, and engineering findings
  • Assist senior engineers with troubleshooting mechanical issues during development, production, and testing
  • Learn and apply design-for-manufacturability principles across sheet metal, casting, machining, and injection molding applications
  • Support drawing updates for production, marketing, and internal engineering use
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the Mechanical Engineering Manager or Company management
  • Act with integrity in all internal and external interactions by providing technically accurate information and representing product capabilities and system performance responsibly
