About The Position

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I in Holland, MI. This role supports engineering projects by applying fundamental principles, standard procedures, and basic technical skills. The Mechanical Engineer I will perform routine technical tasks with guidance, using prescribed methods and CAD tools, while developing an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities. The role emphasizes skill-building, teamwork, and effective communication, as the engineer collaborates with peers, staff, contractors, and the public to contribute to project success. This is a full-time, onsite position.

Requirements

1-3 years of experience as a mechanical engineer
Experienced with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD)
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline
Associates degree (2-year) with experience from accredited program (ABET/EAC)
Has a primarily academic knowledge of a subset of the engineering discipline principles, practices, and procedures.
Willingness to learn and grow within a professional environment.

Responsibilities

Acquires limited knowledge and develops basic skills
Applies prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks
Performs routine technical work which does not require previous experience

May review the technical output of ME1 or MD1 team members as directed
