This position reports to the Engineering Manager, with responsibility to design new products and make improvements to existing products for TWG. This position is also responsible for following and enforcing ISO procedures, identifying actions to prevent problems, documenting quality problems, and contributing to problem solutions. The position is also responsible for protecting the environment, including preventing pollution, analyzing or identifying areas for correction or improvement. This position will contribute to the success of the operations of TWG by performing the following duties personally as listed in the Essential Duties and Responsibilities section as directed. Other essential duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree in engineering with 0 to 2+ years related successful experience; or combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with: Basic mechanical systems and elements.
  • Familiarity with: Basic design analysis of systems and components.
  • Familiarity with: 3-D CAD systems and basic drawings procedures.
  • Familiarity with: Mechanical work with hand tools and power tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience in mechanical-based applications.
  • Experience integrating electronics and software with mechanical elements.
  • Working knowledge of mobile equipment, cranes, winches, hoists, and geared machinery.
  • Design, completion, and evaluation of experiments as well as presentation of findings and recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and designs mechanical, electromechanical, and hydraulic systems and products.
  • Designs products and systems such as winches, winch systems, winch accessories, truck mounted equipment, hydraulic systems and parts.
  • Creates or modifies solid models, drawings of new and existing parts and products as necessary.
  • Computes magnitude, direct and point of application of tension, compression and bending forces and develops geometric shapes of machine parts to accommodate operating loads.
  • Compiles and or analyzes test data to determine effect of design on machine in relation to such factors as temperature, pressure, volumes, speed, tension and horsepower.
  • Generates test plans and procedures, performs tests, and evaluates results for individual designs, or designs of others.
  • Following and enforcing ISO procedures.
  • Identifying actions to prevent problems.
  • Documenting quality problems, and contributing to problem solutions.
  • Protecting the environment, including preventing pollution, analyzing or identifying areas for correction or improvement.
