About The Position

This is an entry level engineering position within Duke Energy’s Engineering job hierarchy. This Engineering position is responsible for Electrical, Control systems, and processes. This includes two GE 7F Combustion Turbines, one GE Steam Turbine and auxiliary equipment such as HRSGs, feed water system and fuel systems. Provide day-to-day operational and maintenance support of the station’s Power Block. Develop preventive maintenance and outage plans, update procedures and technical documents. Identify and manage O&M and capital project scopes. Coordinate with OEMs and internal teams; review inspections and corrective actions. Ensure compliance with PSM Guidelines. Provide engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and technical support. Participate in safety reviews, hazard analyses, and incident investigations. Oversee equipment performance and communicate maintenance needs.

Requirements

  • Must have obtained Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree
  • Valid Drivers License required
  • Ability to lift 25 - 75 pounds
  • Ability to work at heights and from suspended work platforms
  • Required to work in all areas of the power plant
  • This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

  • PSM facility experience; familiarity with GE turbines/HRSGs
