About The Position

The successful candidate will design mechanical test equipment and systems within the Mechanical Power Conversion (MPC) division of Collins Aerospace. The test equipment is utilized for production, R&D, and qualification testing of cutting-edge military and commercial aerospace products including fuel pumps, air turbine starters and blowers, engine and air frame gearboxes, and lube and scavenge pumps. As a Mechanical Engineer in the Test Equipment Engineering department at Collins Aerospace, you will: Design test equipment and systems for MPC (Mechanical Power Conversion) suite of mechanical power generation, transmission, and distribution products for military and commercial applications. Research, plan, design, and develop mechanical, thermodynamic, hydraulic, and power transmission test equipment for engineering tests, qualification testing, and production testing of engine & aircraft mounted gearboxes, air turbine starters, main fuel pumps, integrated fuel pumps, and lube & scavenge pumps Document drawings, schematics, diagrams, and specifications of test equipment designs. Participate in guiding test equipment activities including build, assembly, checkout, verification/validation, and commissioning. Review test results in relation to equipment design or rated specifications and test objectives and recommend modification or adjustments of equipment to meet specifications. Develop performance, maintenance, and calibration requirements for test stands and equipment. Participate peer reviews of specifications, designs, and concepts for test equipment, components, and systems. Document fluid schematics and specifications to construct, relocate, and install test stands, test equipment, and facilities infrastructure. Place & track orders and manage costs & schedules. Conduct/Coordinate/Participate in Project Status reviews with team and other stakeholders Work independently and as part of a cross-functional engineering team ensuring work is completed on-time, within quality standards, per specifications and contracts, and within budget constraints. Support test equipment estimation activities including test stand/equipment costs and schedules. Development and documentation of performance, design, calibration, and maintenance requirements for test stands.
