About The Position

Raytheon is seeking an entry-level Thermal Engineer to join the Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Department. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on products throughout their lifecycle, from initial design trade studies and proposals through qualification testing to enduring production support. Entry-level engineers will join and learn from a team of over 200 engineers working in all areas of thermal engineering. You can expect a wide variety of assignments, from classical electronics thermal analyses to cutting-edge test definition and execution, including field test support at locations around the world. The MA&T Department is responsible for ensuring structural and thermal design robustness across the Raytheon portfolio of products, delivering innovative structural and thermal engineering solutions using methods ranging from classical fundamental and empirically based techniques to state-of-the-art finite element methods, all complemented and validated by tests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Experience in thermal analysis with any of the following tools: FloTHERM, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop/SINDA or ANSYS or equivalent.
  • Experience in mechanical principles to solve classical thermal analysis solutions both inside and outside of finite element tools.
  • Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
