About The Position

DEKA Research and Development, housed in Manchester, NH, has an exciting opportunity for an Mechanical Engineering Co-Op to work in a dynamic Research and Development environment. In this role you will work alongside a group of passionate engineers to create innovative solutions that truly make a difference. DEKA offers Co-Ops for full time students (must be at least 18 years of age). This position is for a 6+ month rotation for the Spring semester starting in January and ending in June/ July 2027.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program at the undergraduate junior/senior or graduate level.
• Mechanical aptitude and hands on mechanical experience (working on cars, fixing bicycles or FIRST robotics a plus)
• SOLIDWORKS (or other CAD program) experience
• Knowledge of creating manufacturing drawings
• Experience with Rapid Prototyping
• Experience with data acquisition and data presentation (python or LabView experience a plus)
• Knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics (CFD experience a plus)
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be detailed oriented

Responsibilities

• Work with a mechanical group designing and testing medical products
• Designing test fixtures
• Creating and executing test procedures and generating write-ups to summarize test method and results
• CAD work including solid modeling and drawings
• Support the mechanical group and accomplish tasks with minimal direction
