About The Position
This is a 12-month co-op position for a Mechanical Engineer, starting in either January or May of 2027. The role involves designing and testing mechanical components and fixtures, generating test plans, analyzing results, and troubleshooting testing issues. The co-op will provide regular progress updates to the hardware team.
Requirements
- Enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering degree program
- Completion of at least second year of a Bachelors degree
- Classwork in statics, dynamics, physics, and statistics
- Attention to detail, positive attitude, good work ethic
- Ability to independently troubleshoot
- Teamwork experience through coursework, lab work, and/or internship
Nice To Haves
- Experience with CAD software, Matlab, Python
- Experience with finite element analysis
- Medical device classwork
Responsibilities
- Design and test mechanical components and parts
- Design and development of mechanical fixtures for hardware testing
- Generate hardware test plans and protocols
- Analyze test results and compose test reports
- Troubleshoot problems during testing and assume ownership of specific test methods and sub-modules
- Routinely provide readouts to the larger hardware team about the progress of their work
