About The Position

This role involves designing and building prototypes, analyzing failures, and transitioning successful projects into production. The Mechanical Engineer Co-op will present design reviews, run analysis, visit vendors, and design and execute hardware test plans. A strong foundation in first principles physics is essential for all decisions. Travel to test sites and vendors will be required as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or any related field.
  • Must be returning to school at the end of the internship to continue academic studies for at least one quarter or semester.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities; U.S. clearance eligibility may be required depending on program.
  • Ability to complete an in-person 16-24 -week internship in one of our offices in winter 2027.

Nice To Haves

  • Collegiate project team or laboratory experience.
  • Currently enrolled in an undergrad or graduate engineering program.
  • CAD skills (any platform) and ability to make high-quality engineering drawings that meet common industry standards.
  • Demonstrated hands-on fabrication skills.
  • High competence with, and fluid use of, engineering first principles.
  • Prior internship experience and/or leadership on a collegiate project team or laboratory.
  • Experience in NX/Teamcenter and/or Solidworks.
  • Experience with FEA and/or CFD analysis tools.
  • Ability to integrate electrical components into designs (motors, controllers, sensors etc.).
  • Experience with machining, sheet metal, injection molding, and 3D printing.
