About The Position

BOSS Snowplow, a division of The Toro Company located in Iron Mountain, Michigan, is a leader in the snow and ice management business. They offer a growing lineup of plows for trucks, UTVs and ATVs, salt and sand spreaders, and box plows. With a focus on uncompromising quality and high-level craftsmanship, BOSS has grown to be a leader in the sale of snow and ice equipment. This is a co-op position from January 2027 through August 2027.

Requirements

Pursuing a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience with 3D CAD software
Basics of manufacturing processes such as welding, metal cutting and forming, painting and assembly
Knowledgeable in Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Strong leadership skills to lead a project and pull information from others
Problem solving skills
Demonstrated computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Creo
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing
Ability to work on multiple projects at one time

Nice To Haves

Creo Parametric is a plus
Basic understanding of hydraulic systems is preferred
Mechanical aptitude and hands-on mechanical skills preferred

Responsibilities

Assist with design, prototyping, and development of new products and improvements to existing products
Conduct required tests, collect data, and analyze results for new or existing products
Design tests or test fixtures as needed
Recognize and help with problem solving efforts in the Product Development Lab
Work with operations engineers to reduce costs and help improve quality of product
