Requirements

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in HV battery design, automotive product design, or relevant industries.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software (preferably CATIA V5 or V6).
  • Experience in design for manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA), including processes like extrusion, stamping, and casting.
  • Solid understanding of various materials and mechanical joining techniques.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to execute contingency plans when needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills — verbal, written, and presentation (English).
  • Project management experience and ability to lead cross-functional efforts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment and build consensus.
  • Fully understand and abide by the contents of Code of Conduct distributed by Gotion.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cell-to-pack (CTP) or cell-to-chassis (CTC) battery architecture.
  • Hands-on knowledge of battery modules, and pack design.
  • Familiarity with thermal systems and battery enclosure sealing methods.

Responsibilities

  • Design and release mechanical components of the HV battery pack, including enclosures, subcomponent mounting structures, and vehicle interfaces.
  • Create and manage 2D and 3D CAD drawings of battery pack assemblies and components, including wire harnesses and brackets.
  • Develop part and assembly models using appropriate Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Work on concept development, feasibility studies, and packaging studies.
  • Conduct DFMEA and PFMEA to identify potential failure modes and drive design improvements.
  • Collaborate with CAE and testing teams to ensure product designs meet performance targets.
  • Coordinate development, assembly, and delivery of prototype battery packs, ensuring timelines and design targets are met.
  • Perform additional engineering tasks and contribute to cross-functional initiatives as assigned.
  • Work closely with supply chain and supplier quality teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality components, including required testing and validation.
