About The Position

This position is a member of the Engineering Department. The Mechanical Engineer 1 will report directly to the Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager. The primary responsibilities include designing new products or re-designing existing products, interfacing with customers to develop leading-edge designs, cost-effective manufacturing, and excellent machine performance with oversight generally provided by a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer and/or Mechanical Project Team Leader. The role requires utilizing current design techniques and tools, ensuring designs and BOMs are accurate with a standard of zero defects, and completing design projects in a timely manner. Designs must comply with all safety requirements and be within product specifications, considering cost, manufacturability, reliability, and service requirements. The position also involves assisting in commissioning and debugging of products, assuring the product is "as designed" with proper revision control, reviewing/approving change requests, ensuring proper documentation is recorded, and verifying the product meets specifications. Maintaining a working knowledge of machine process and operation is also key. The role requires working in a team environment, actively participating in team meetings, design reviews, machine reviews, and kick-off meetings, and interacting with other departments such as Manufacturing, TSS, Sales, and Purchasing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or technical degree and relevant experience in machine design or relevant industrial experience and proven performance.
  • Excellent computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • AutoCAD and Solidworks experience preferred.

Responsibilities
