About The Position

Flextrades is hiring MECHANICAL and ELECTRICAL ASSEMBLERS with 4+ recent years experience for a 2-4 month Travelling Contract to NEW JERSEY. This is a contract position with a guaranteed 50-hour workweek, with overtime paid after 40 hours. Hotel accommodations and travel pay are included. The role involves assembling large gas engines into containers, performing both mechanical and electrical tasks according to print and quality requirements.

Requirements

4+ recent years as an industrial assembler.
Proficient with hand tools.
Production line assembly experience.
Proficient in Electrical Schematics.
Proficient in Mechanical Troubleshooting.
Proficient in 120/208/240/480 Voltage Systems.
Proficient in Electrical / Electronic Systems.
Proficient in Conduit Pulling.
Proficient in Mechanical Assembly Skills.
Proficient in Equipment Installation & Wiring.
Proficient in Blueprint Reading.

Responsibilities

Performing all mechanical aspects of assembling/connecting the large gas engines into the container, including engine modules, generators, and gearboxes.
Installing lubrication and cooling lines.
Performing some dimensional checks ensuring clearance between items and interfacing components.
Operating overhead cranes (45t and 100t) and smaller gantry cranes.
Completing final tasks to ensure containers are ready for shipping and transport, such as fastening the transfer cover and covering ventilation ports with sheet metal.
Performing the electrical aspects of assembling/connecting the large gas engines into and inside the container.
Running wire, cable, and conduit, and sometimes plastic hosing.
Wiring components including sensors, various control systems, control boxes, panels, transmitters, and ignition modules.
