About The Position

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking experienced Mechanical/Piping Designers and Checkers to support projects in the nuclear market. The role contributes to construction-driven engineering and design, collaborating with engineering, module fabrication, construction, equipment suppliers, and other project partners to develop safe, cost-effective, innovative designs that meet client expectations. The position may be based in a KNS regional office in Lenexa, Oak Ridge, Aiken, Idaho Falls, or Houston; other locations and remote work may be considered case by case. The role involves 3D modeling and piping-system design for industrial and power-generation facilities, facility layout and equipment arrangement, and development and checking of design deliverables against applicable codes, standards, contracts, and company requirements. The designer/checker also supports construction teams, coordinates design work, contributes to schedules and estimates, and mentors lower-level designers and support staff. Task progress is reported to the Lead Designer.
