Requirements
- Strong SolidWorks skills (3D, assemblies, master models, drawings)
- Ability to work independently and apply prior learnings to new designs
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods (injection moulding, sheet metal, casting, welding)
- Experience performing engineering analyses and trade-offs
- Experience with prototype validation and product testing
- Ability to manage timelines, quality, and design releases
- Eligible to be certified under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and legally authorized to work in Canada required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with UAS or ruggedised systems
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Responsibilities
- Design plastic, metal, and multi-material components and assemblies using SolidWorks
- Own and update master models and create manufacturing-ready 2D drawings
- Build and test prototypes using rapid methods (e.g., 3D printing)
- Perform engineering analyses (stress, thermal, airflow, loads) to guide decisions
- Partner with electrical, manufacturing, quality, and reliability teams
- Research and apply new technologies for unmanned systems (UAS)
- Support verification activities, fixture design, and product testing
- Drive design reviews and file release processes
- Contribute to production troubleshooting and continuous improvement
