About The Position

Assystem is a leading nuclear engineering firm with over 60 years of experience in highly regulated sectors. The group supports public and industrial stakeholders in executing complex and strategic infrastructure projects. Assystem has 8,000 experts in 13 countries and works across the entire project lifecycle in engineering, project management, and digital solutions. This role is for a Mechanical Designer to join their growing Defence sector team, working on Assystem-led projects across UK offices with flexible hybrid working.

Requirements

• HND in an applicable engineering/design discipline preferred or HNC with relevant experience.
• Extensive experience in mechanical design in line with BS/ISO standards.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software.
• Experience with design for manufacture, pipework, pressure vessels, and structural steelwork.
• Experience with origination of detailed drawings

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Autodesk Revit and GD&T.
• Familiarity with BS8888 and ASME Y14.5 drawing standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop complete design concepts, scheme definitions, and full detailed design solutions using CAD software, including Inventor.
• Work on piping systems, mechanical flow diagrams, and the production of general arrangement, assembly, component, and fabrication drawings.
• Ensure designs adhere to the AEIL Quality Management System, delivering work within agreed time scales, costs, and quality standards.
