About The Position

BPA is looking for a detail-driven, collaborative Mechanical Building Designer to work on diverse mechanical building systems, with a strong focus on new constructions, interior renovations and building retrofits within the Commercial Office sector in Toronto. The role involves all stages of design and coordination, partnering with engineers and technicians, conducting site surveys, preparing analyses and cost estimates, and producing technical documentation. This is an opportunity to work on exciting projects in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in building mechanical design.
  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Experience attending or supporting client and stakeholder meetings.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality.

Nice To Haves

  • Revit/BIM experience strongly preferred.
  • EIT, CET, or P.Eng. designation (or eligibility) considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Technical design and coordination of various mechanical building systems projects
  • Work closely with engineers and technicians to develop solutions tailored to client needs and carry out building mechanics projects for various sectors (institutional, office, commercial, cultural and residential)
  • Survey existing installations alongside the mentor
  • Analyze, design and adapt installations related to building mechanics
  • Help produce construction cost estimates
  • Help draft specifications and technical reports
  • Provide assistance in regard to site supervision
