We are seeking a forward-thinking and skilled Mechanical Designer to join our Innovation Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing innovative mechanical systems and solutions that enhance the efficiency and performance of our construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical design principles, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to bring new ideas to life.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in equipment design (automation) or industry.
- Proficient in CAD software, primarily SolidWorks and other relevant design tools.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated experience in developing innovative mechanical solutions that improve efficiency and performance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts and collaborate with a diverse team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and best practices related to mechanical design in construction.
Nice To Haves
- Familiar with other CAD software such as Tekla, .ifc, and NC file exports are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop equipment mechanical designs, concepts, and detailed drawings for new and existing construction projects, focusing on innovation and efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into effective mechanical designs.
- Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and testing to validate design concepts and ensure they meet performance, safety, and quality standards.
- Utilize SolidWorks to create detailed 2D and 3D models of mechanical components and systems.
- Identify opportunities for design improvements and recommend innovative solutions that optimize performance and reduce costs.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute to the development of new ideas for mechanical systems and construction methods.
- Prepare and present design proposals, technical reports, and documentation for internal review and client presentations.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical design, materials, and technology to incorporate cutting-edge solutions into projects.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Ability to work hands-on to assemble, test, and perform proof of concept designs.
