About The Position

Conducts and supports the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical and hardware products. Apply strong analytical and reasoning skills to complex design projects. Conducts research and applies to assigned projects. Participates in the development of trade studies, analysis of alternatives, and capability analysis. Supports multiple engineering tasks simultaneously. Collaborates continuously and participates in integrated product and technical teams. Develops drawings associated with design and applies standard configuration management principles. Reviews technical documentation and specifications to ensure project requirements are accurate and are being met. Applies system design principles and assists in the resolution of engineering and design problems. Prepares, delivers, and presents technical reports, briefings, supporting data, and recommendations to team members, customer, and management. Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific projects Interacts with internal and external customers, team members, and management.

Requirements

BS in STEM and 5-10 years related experience.
Structural, mechanical and hardware design experience.
CAD knowledge including engineering drawing development under ASME Y14.100 guidelines and ASME Y14.5 GD&T principles.
MS Office Suite experience.
Ability to conduct research and perform analysis on requirements, capability, and operational effects.
Passion for solving problems and providing workable solutions.
Strong analytical and reasoning skills and ability to visualize processes and outcomes.
Outstanding all-round communication and presentation skills, and ability to work collaboratively.
Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
Strong customer service orientation.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in development of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, equipment, and tools to the design, manufacture, integration, and test of various hardware and services.
Active Secret Security clearance, and the ability to maintain clearance.

Nice To Haves

SolidWorks CAD, preferred.
Familiarization with hardware and electrical fabrication, integration, and sub-component and system testing, preferred.
Familiarity with developing technical design packages for complex engineering systems.
Experience with presenting and defending technical designs and analyses, preferred.
Army programs (DEVCOM Aviation and Missile Center, Space and Missile Defense Command), preferred.
Familiarization with Army fixed and/or transportable rocket launcher and Tactical Operation Center command, control, and communication development, hardware and electrical integration, and operation preferred.
