Proficiency in SolidWorks is essential, encompassing skills in modeling, assemblies, drawings, sheet metal, weldments, BOMs, and configurations. The engineer must effectively communicate with project teams, peers, and management to ensure all design directions and changes are clear. Responsibilities also include entering BOMs into ERP software and conducting thorough research on automation system components. Adherence to quality and safety standards is paramount, along with an understanding of mechanical and fluid power principles. The engineer will strive for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and enhanced assembly times while considering aesthetics when feasible, helping to develop and uphold essential processes and procedures.
