Mechanical Design Engineer
About The Position
We're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing, forward-thinking, and collaborative team. In this role, you'll apply a broad range of engineering principles to research and develop production machinery, automate manufacturing processes, and continuously improve how we make our products. Requirements
- BS or BE in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 3+ years designing and implementing production machinery solutions in a factory environment.
- Proficiency in Pro/Engineer (Creo) or similar 3D design software; SolidWorks knowledge a plus.
- Electro-mechanical automation background, with knowledge of general automation techniques, components, and principles.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of injection molding operations and mold design a significant plus.
- Familiarity with standard machining and assembly practices a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design production machinery from inception to completion, including design and detailing of all parts, overseeing assembly, design and programming of all control circuits, testing, operator training and implementation into production.
- Analyze manufacturing problems and implement solutions.
- Research, purchase and implement outsourced manufacturing machinery.
- Implement manufacturing tooling and processes for new products.
- Assist in research, development and testing of new products.
- Troubleshooting problems in the factory and determining solutions.
- Interface with QC department in investigating and correcting quality issues.
