About The Position

We're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join us on the ground floor, with runway for huge and immediate impact. This role involves working on the end-to-end design and manufacturing of parts and sub-assemblies, fabricating prototypes, iterating rapidly, and advancing concepts through to high volume production. The engineer will develop specifications and accelerated test plans to validate the product for its determined lifetime, conduct component-level testing for performance, durability, reliability, and variability, and complete and release component designs and documentation, including 2D drawings. Collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of subject matter experts to create a cohesive and balanced product, and establishing relationships with vendors, suppliers, and CMs in a startup environment are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • Technical degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Professional mechanical design engineering experience on a product (preferably B to C) that is shipping in high volume
  • Understanding of materials and high-volume manufacturing methods such as Injection Molding
  • Proficiency in using Solidworks modeling 3D CAD design software
  • Comfort with PDM, PLM and Engineering Change Management and Quality Management systems
  • Knowledge of GD&T, finite element analysis and design for reliability concepts
  • Comfort with fast-paced, startup atmosphere -- you don’t shy away from the hard work
  • High level of maturity, ownership, and pride in your work
