About The Position

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Design to support the development and production of a missile system. As a Mechanical Engineering Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the Integrated Product Team in creating detailed designs, layouts, and drawings for various components and subassemblies. You will play a key role in developing and generating CREO layouts, detailed drawings, and design documentation, ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant industry.
  • Proficient in Computer Aided Design (CREO or Solid Works).
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and ability to perform complex detailed part and subsystem tolerance analysis
  • Have the ability to generate engineering drawings, documents, parts lists and specifications
  • Have the ability to work with minimal oversight or supervision
  • Active secret security clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands‑on experience with machining, rapid prototyping, or lab equipment (CNC, 3‑D printers, test rigs)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD).
  • Experience with aerospace hardware such as structures, optical or radio frequency (RF) sensors, energetics, propulsion, or flight control systems.
  • Experience with phases of aerospace systems lifecycle from proposal and capture efforts, development, transition to production, production, and sustainment.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and generating CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles
  • Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM
  • Coordinating with the IPT team, suppliers, GSC, electronic packaging, optics, and structural/thermal/material analysts to ensure design excellence
  • Managing drawing releases, responding to CRs, generating CN's, and presenting/supporting change boards and design reviews
  • Performing design trade studies to evaluate cost, weight, performance, and structural/thermal benefits
