This role participates in the design and development of heavy-duty trucks within the Routings Group, managing the implementation of product changes by tracking project schedule, budget, and functional requirements throughout the entire life of the project. The engineer will utilize Creo to create optimized air and harness routings, including supporting bracketry and troughs, and work closely with Electrical teams and suppliers to optimize the design of harnesses for routings with the goal of eliminating rub/chafe related field failures. The position involves investigating warranty and plant quality data to understand root causes of routing related defects, defining the scope of Routings programs, and collaborating with the PACCAR Technical Center to develop improved validation methods and procedures for routings. The role also includes collaborating with simulation teams to analyze and validate designs with FEA and creating rapid prototypes to quickly evaluate and/or validate design concepts.
