About The Position

Working within the Engineering department, the Design Engineer reports to the Manager, Design Engineering and works with guidance from the engineering team. The role is responsible for implementing project designs and improving existing products in accordance with design plans. The job is generally performed in an office environment, with possible travel to client offices, production facilities, or industrial/construction job sites. Work conditions may vary by location. Employees must be able to work safely in potentially explosive environments and wear company-provided PPE as needed. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving history are required for travel between Nikkiso facility locations and client offices. New employees must complete safety training, and additional job-specific training may be required. Overtime may be necessary and may include weekdays, weekends, nights, or holidays. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Two years of related experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD software; SOLIDWORKS preferred, including creating models, assemblies, and drawings.
• Intermediate knowledge of the MS Office Suite.
• Knowledge of GD&T.
• Ability to perform basic engineering calculations.
• Time-management skills, including prioritizing and managing changing priorities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to safely work in a potentially explosive environment.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving history for required travel.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 25 lbs. when required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with SOLIDWORKS.

Responsibilities

• Modify and create 3D CAD models and drawings.
• Create and modify Bills of Materials in CAD and MRP/ERP systems.
• Create and modify documentation used to manufacture and assemble products.
• Follow direction provided by Design and Project Engineers.
• Complete required safety training and comply with safety requirements, including wearing provided PPE as needed.
