Mechanical Design Engineer - Energy Efficiency

About The Position

This role involves providing technical expertise in mechanical design, focusing on energy efficiency. The engineer will be responsible for project scoping, budgeting, calculations, equipment selection, and creating custom design solutions to meet customer needs. The position also involves managing subcontractors, creating drawings, acting as a technical expert, developing sales proposals, and closing deals. The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.

Requirements

5 -10 years of relevant experience
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Understanding of HVAC/R and Plumbing including clean rooms, industrial applications, chiller & boilers, BMS controls, system design
Professional, dynamic presence and ability to communicate with people of all levels
Excellent written and verbal skills at technical and professional level
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quotas and goals

Responsibilities

Provide scope, budgets and estimates for projects
Perform calculations, duct sizing, pipe sizing and equipment selection to resolve customer needs
Build rapport with existing client base to facilitate new project opportunities
Create custom design solutions to directly address complex customer issues
Coordinate and manage subcontractors for timely delivery of scope items
Create drawings for field personnel to work from
Act as technical expert for both internal and external customers
Develop sales and marketing proposals for customer on technical products and services
Act to close deals and finalize contracts
Other duties as assigned
