About The Position

The Mechanical Design & Development Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather, analyze, and define requirements for continuous improvement and new engineering initiatives. This role involves designing and developing 3D CAD models, 2D engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications using AutoCAD and UG NX in accordance with automotive standards. The engineer will lead tool design activities, including Jigs & Fixtures, Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), workstations, gauges, and assembly aids. Responsibilities also include conceptualizing, designing, and executing complete assembly lines, driving the entire project lifecycle from concept to release for manufacturing, and supporting prototyping, validation, testing, and installation. The role requires coordination with local vendors and suppliers, close collaboration with manufacturing, quality, production, and maintenance teams, and leading engineering projects to ensure on-time delivery, budget adherence, and quality compliance. Performing DFMEA, PFMEA, and design risk assessments, conducting design reviews, and ensuring compliance with automotive standards are also key aspects. The engineer will prepare and maintain design documentation and provide technical mentoring. Participation in line balancing, layout optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives is expected. Additionally, the role involves acting as the primary liaison between client teams and offshore engineering resources, providing progress updates, and ensuring seamless communication.
