Requirements

High school diploma or GED or greater
8+ years' work experience
3+ years of direct experience in a critical facility operation, such as a data center or hospital.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Experience with chillers greater than 300 tons, boilers, or significant other mechanical experiences
Pass the NITC Journey Level HVAC exam within the first year of employment.
Have current EPA 608 Universal preferred or must obtain within 90 days of employment.
Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Ability to relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
Ability to work at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
Ability to walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
Ability to use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

Nice To Haves

Candidates who have already passed the NITC Journey-Level HVAC Exam are preferred.
Current EPA 608 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintaining and repairing the complex mechanical systems in data centers, hospitals, and manufacturing plants.
Operation, maintenance, and repair of complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including chillers, boilers, CRAC/CRAH units, and air handling units.
Install, maintain, and repair minor plumbing systems, including pumps, valves, and piping.
Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment using knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Monitoring and controlling environmental systems using BMS platforms like Niagara Tridium, Siemens, or Johnson Controls.
Reading and interpreting mechanical, plumbing, and electrical diagrams to perform maintenance and repairs.
Tracking and documenting work orders, repairs, and maintenance activities using CMMS software.
