About The Position

Mechanical Contract Engineer will perform a full range of engineering tasks focusing on completing special request work for the Application Engineering team. Additional responsibilities include creating documentation for the work and supporting other departments as needed. This role requires occasional travel for training, to support other JCI facilities, to visit job sites, or to support the field, up to 10%.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering (ABET accredited) or related science
  • Willingness to work in the office daily, located in York, PA
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint), as well as Internet software
  • Ability to use CAD to produce 2/3D drawings (AutoCad / Inventor)
  • Possess strong verbal and written technical communication skills
  • A strong ability to multi-task is necessary

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and knowledge of HVAC fundamentals is beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Support Application Engineers and sales teams by providing guidance and executing special requests
  • Prepare non-standard sketches and drawings and prepare design documents
  • Responsible for technical direction to other departments on specific work assignments.
  • Provide limited training to others in areas of technical and practical knowledge
  • Work independently with minimal direction. Independently develops approach to solutions and leads in process improvement.
  • Develop technical documents to support teams within the business
  • Assist Airside Technical Service with field application issues as necessary
  • Support the factory with issues that may arise from completed special request work
  • Review and analyze engineering rules and documents as necessary
  • Follow codes and procedures related to job
  • Adhere to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards
