About The Position

As a Project Manager, you will manage commercial and industrial plumbing and HVAC construction projects ranging from $1M to $10M in scope. You will maintain accurate labor projections and produce reliable forecasts of project financial performance while actively managing work through all phases of execution. You will meet regularly with management to review project status, schedules, and key milestones, and participate in turnover meetings to ensure seamless transitions from preconstruction to execution and closeout. You will collaborate closely with engineers, field leadership, suppliers, and other subcontractors to coordinate installation activities and drive successful project outcomes. This role assumes an active, hands-on approach to project management, influencing the financial performance of regional work while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality expectations. You will also support customer follow-up as needed and benefit from a unified team structure, receiving collaborative support from Purchasing, Drafting, and Collections, reinforcing Ahern’s team-oriented approach to project delivery.

Requirements

  • Prior construction project management or sales experience with plumbing and HVAC related projects.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Basic understanding of design.
  • Strong understanding of how to put together a disciplined estimate.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
