The Mechanical Commissioning Engineer assists with the mechanical validation program for large-scale, mission-critical data center construction projects. The role leads the QA/QC process across Levels 2 through 3 (L2–L3) and assists with end-to-end commissioning across Levels 4 through 5 (L4–L5). The successful candidate provides technical oversight to field technicians and trade contractors, bridging design requirements and field conditions to validate HVAC, cooling, and automation systems under realistic failure scenarios. The role covers L2–L3 documentation verification, installation and construction-readiness checks, and equipment and vendor startup validation. It also assists with L4 functional performance testing and L5 integrated systems testing, including heat-load tests of redundancy, interlocks, failovers, and transient behaviors. The engineer reviews site-specific test scripts, Method Statements (MOPs), and pre-functional checklists, and contributes to tracking and remediation of mechanical deficiencies. Relevant systems include chilled water systems; air handling and computer-room cooling systems; advanced liquid cooling infrastructure; building automation and controls; and supporting fuel oil, fire suppression, and plumbing systems. The position is deployment-site focused and may require travel 50% to 65% of the time.
