About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking qualified Intermediate Mechanical/Piping Designers to support engineering roles for nuclear projects. This role involves working on fast-paced, technically complex projects in the Nuclear industry, including new builds, refurbishments, and plant operation support modifications. The designer will be responsible for the preparation, design, modification, coordination, and review of electronic documents using AutoCAD and/or Microstation, sketching, and 3D computer modeling, while adhering to client-specific file management systems and quality assurance programs. The position requires interfacing with engineering teams throughout the design lifecycle and promoting a positive team environment.

Requirements

• College diploma or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 5 years in mechanical design and drafting.
• Working knowledge of Smart Plan 3D (SP3) is a must.
• Working knowledge in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Raster Design, AutoCAD plant 3D, Micro Station, NavisWorks Manage, NavisWorks Freedom and SolidWorks
• Ability to take marked up engineering drawings and incorporates changes into AutoCAD files.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff in a team environment as well as independently.

• ASME Code knowledge considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Prepare electronic documents in AutoCAD and/or Microstation; sketching, and three-dimensional computer modeling.
• Follow client driven file management system for document storage.
• Prepare engineering deliverables for both nuclear and conventional systems in accordance with AtkinsRéalis Nuclear Inc. / Candu Energy Quality Assurance Programs and project requirements.
• Apply relevant Codes & Standards and regulatory requirements and coordinate with design team to ensure the compliances.
• Interface with Engineering teams, throughout the lifecycle of the design project (i.e., from preliminary and conceptual engineering to detailed design, implementation and close-out) to provide practical and effective solutions as per requirements.
