About The Position

Kratos is hiring Mechanical Assembly Technicians at Levels I and II to join its production team manufacturing advanced switchgear, controls, and power distribution systems for industries including utilities, defense, and renewable energy. This hands-on role involves assembling electro-mechanical products, with careful attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, quality craftsmanship, safety, and production standards. The listed schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with overtime as required. Pay is $20–$23 per hour for Tech I and $24–$27 per hour for Tech II, depending on experience. Technicians assemble mechanical subassemblies and electrical components using engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions; perform alignments, torque fasteners, and conduct fit checks; and use hand and power tools to build control panels, switchboards, and associated wiring. The role also includes quality and safety practices, testing appropriate to the technician’s level, completing build records, using ERP and mobile applications to track work, and supporting continuous improvement with engineering and leadership. Tech I technicians perform basic mechanical assembly and wiring-harness work under supervision, follow simple drawings and instructions, strip and crimp wires, mount components, connect plugs, and record completed work. Tech II technicians perform those duties and independently assemble medium-complexity systems, interpret engineering drawings and schematics, conduct basic troubleshooting and rework, inspect work in progress, and support testing and quality assurance in accordance with UL manufacturing standards.
