About The Position

We are currently in search of a Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our Industrial Engineering department of the Marquardt Group in our location Cazenovia (USA). The Mechanical Assembly Technician is responsible for the assembly, installation, and setup of new machines and equipment. Every machine we build is custom designed from the ground up for leading industries such as medical, and automotive. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with mechanical assembly; automation experience is a plus, but a strong mechanical background is the primary requirement.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with machining equipment and tools, including mills, lathes, and grinders.
  • Basic electrical assembly knowledge or cross-training experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to learn CAM software.
  • Ability to interact effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and production personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting assembly drawings and 3D models
  • Assembly of mechanical devices and machined components
  • Reading and interpreting electrical drawings
  • Assembly and wiring of electrical devices and connections
  • Use of hand tools and measuring equipment
  • Basic troubleshooting and use of a multimeter
  • Ability to run manual Toolroom machines at a fundamental level. Drills, milling machines, lathes, grinders.
  • Machining basic parts from drawings
  • Design and develop basic holding fixtures, create efficient set ups.
  • Design and develop basic end of arm tools, carts, and other simple projects to support manufacturing
  • Ability to perform tool room work in a timely manner
  • Serve as technical resource production coordinators, and other personnel as required.
