Mechanical Assembly Technician

The Assembly Technician assembles electric motors and gear boxes according to prints and specifications, ensuring that all products meet the company’s high-quality specifications. The ideal candidate enjoys working with their hands to complete the manufacturing process of creating a world class product. This is an integral role as the customer sees your pride of workmanship when the finished product reaches their door and exceeds their expectations.
Requirements
- Formal mechanical training or equivalent hands-on experience
- 1-3 years relevant experience
- Ability to add and subtract decimals and fractions
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and Bills of Material
- Keen attention to detail to ensure accurate assembly
- General knowledge of hand and power tools
- Good computer and mathematical skills
- Manages time well for optimum efficiency
- Communicates clearly with coworkers
- Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to stand for long periods of time
Responsibilities
- Reads Bills of Material and follows procedures for assembly and test
- Uses precision instruments such as digital calipers to obtain proper fits and clearances
- Identifies any part or equipment defects and notifies manager to ensure prompt correction
- Verifies correct quantities of parts for the assembly at hand
- Supports Shipping & Receiving in packaging/unpackaging products
