About The Position

The Mechanical Assembly Technician is a member of the Production Team, assembling and repairing complex, high-precision electro-optical systems. The role performs production processes in accordance with documented specifications and production schedules and requires proficiency operating a manual or conventional lathe for precision machining.

Advanced Infrared Solutions (AIRS), formerly American Infrared Solutions, was acquired by Anduril Industries in 2025 and operates as part of the Imaging Business Line. AIRS designs and builds cooled infrared cameras and subsystems, including Integrated Dewar Cooler Assemblies (IDCAs), from its site in Hudson, New Hampshire. The team is expanding production to supply components to Anduril's Imaging products and to external customers in the defense, space, and commercial industrial sectors.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Familiarity with torque and mechanical tools, including gages and indicators.
• Ability to use computer systems to support process transactions and quality management processes.
• Demonstrated hands-on fabrication, mechanical assembly, and wiring skills.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications and complete travelers, visual aids, and procedures during production.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding, flexible team environment.
• Ability to carry 50 pounds for short periods.
• Ability to multitask and move into new assignments on short notice.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
• Proficiency in manual/conventional lathe operation for precision machining.

• Experience with AS9100 or equivalent quality management systems.
• Experience with 5S practices.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective time management.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience using microscopes.
• Experience with ESD processes.
• Experience with imaging, optics, and alignment.
