About The Position

Mechanical Assembler at LayerZero Power Systems LLC. will be responsible for the assembly of fabricated and electrical components, subassemblies, and miscellaneous enclosures. This role is very detail-oriented and requires preparing, positioning, assembling, and verifying parts that go into creating our products. The Mechanical Assembler must have mechanical and technical skills for this position. LayerZero Power Systems LLC. is looking for a knowledgeable, team-oriented worker with dexterity to join our team.

Requirements

  • Assembly in a manufacturing environment or transferable mechanical experience
  • Must have the ability to read assembly drawings and follow direction
  • Ability to use hand tools & wire crimpers
  • Standing for extended time periods, up to the entire eight-hour shift
  • Bending, squatting, kneeling, or climbing a stepladder while working
  • Reaching above and forward at least 18 inches
  • Possessing hand dexterity and installing small hardware
  • Inspect parts and assemblies
  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments.
  • Strong ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings.
  • Knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core).
  • Experience with structural steel, pipe, or plate fabrication.
  • Proficient with measuring tools (tape measure, squares, calipers).
  • Good math skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift materials and work in industrial environments.

Nice To Haves

  • technical or trade school preferred.
  • Trade school or apprenticeship experience.
  • AWS or other welding-related certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret 3D models to understand assembly process and basic computer skills (i.e. email)
  • Use basic hand tools to assemble cabinet components (i.e. sub-assemblies, frames, main, etc.)
  • Installation of flexibar and power cables as required by product design
  • Understand torque drawings and apply them properly
  • Inspection of parts, materials and assemblies to comply with company quality standards
  • Report quality issues to supervisors and leads
  • Properly communicating/documenting with supervision as required in the position
  • Be dynamic and flexible as work content evolves
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Measure, mark, cut, and shape metal materials (steel, aluminum, stainless, etc.).
  • Fit and align parts using clamps, fixtures, and hand tools.
  • Ensure proper joint fit-up (gap, angle, and alignment) before welding.
  • Rivet fit components in place prior to final welding.
  • Inspect materials and assemblies for accuracy and quality.
  • Work closely with welders to ensure specifications are met.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
  • Use tools such as grinders, torches, saws, and measuring instruments.
