About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team. This role is ideal for a mechanically skilled tradesperson who enjoys building large, custom equipment rather than repetitive high-volume production work. It is well suited for someone who can read blueprints, work to tight tolerances, and take pride in precise, high-quality assembly. This role fits individuals who enjoy solving mechanical challenges and working on a variety of unique projects in a fabrication environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical fitting, heavy assembly, or custom fabrication environment
  • Intermediate blueprint reading skills required
  • Experience working with tight tolerances, fits, and mechanical alignment required
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience assembling large equipment, weldments, or custom machinery preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
  • Assemble large custom-built equipment, weldments, and fabricated components according to blueprints and work instructions
  • Interpret intermediate-level blueprints, assembly drawings, and specifications to determine proper fit, alignment, and sequence
  • Perform mechanical fitting and assembly requiring accurate layout, alignment, and positioning of components
  • Work to tight tolerances including press fits, slip fits, and precision alignment of mechanical parts
  • Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, squares, and levels to verify dimensions and fit
  • Use hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and other mechanical assembly tools safely and effectively
  • Verify parts and components prior to assembly to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to position and move components during assembly
  • Perform torch heating, minor welding, or fitting work when required to achieve proper alignment and fit
  • Plan and organize work to meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards
  • Communicate with supervisors and team members to resolve fit-up, alignment, or assembly issues
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition
  • Follow drawings, specifications, and company procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency
