About The Position

Automatic Handling International, Inc. has been supplying the Global Fortune 500 Consumer Products Manufacturing Industry as a worldwide Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of custom and patented handling and packaging systems since 1972. The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling, fitting, and installing mechanical components and subassemblies for custom-designed equipment. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or vocational school preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in a shop environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, or welding is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and fit mechanical parts, subassemblies, and complete systems according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy.
  • Inspect parts and assemblies for proper fit and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues in collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Support testing, installation, and commissioning of equipment as needed.
