About The Position

Thales Defense & Security, Inc. (TDSI), headquartered in Clarksburg, MD, is a U.S. company with over 60 years of experience serving the defense Air, Land, and Sea domains. With more than 1,000 employees across four subsidiaries, TDSI provides a range of communication, visualization, signal intelligence/electronic warfare, and sensor/sonar capabilities to U.S. Joint Services, special operations forces, and multinational partners. Their key technologies include tactical handheld radios, expeditionary satellite terminals, helmet-mounted displays, optics and target recognition capabilities, advanced radars, and undersea sensing and missile systems. The company emphasizes that lives depend on their work. They are currently seeking Mechanical Assemblers for the 2nd Shift at their Clarksburg, MD Campus. The 2nd shift operates from 2:30 pm to 12:00 am. Mechanical Assemblers will report to the Manager of Manufacturing.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2 – 4 years of equivalent experience.
  • Computer Skills with proficiency in Word, Outlook, WorkForce and SAP S4/Hana.
  • Familiarity with electronic assemblies, and surface mount assemblies.
  • Ability to interpret IPC-A-620 standards, where applicable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications – Fluent in English.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Ability to comply with all Company guidelines, policies, procedures and embrace Company Core Values.

Responsibilities

  • Follow printed work instructions.
  • Read schematics, wiring diagrams, and building assembly drawings along with MWI.
  • Handle small precision tools, hardware, etc.
  • Properly sign in on correct PIDs, complete ESD testing, and follow all manufacturing guidelines and procedures.
  • Keep team lead informed of assembly issues.
  • Maintain a neat appearance in their work area and follow FOD compliance.
  • Be accountable for quality, quantity, and inspection of all work performed.
