About The Position

As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in operations and the assembly process. This role provides on-the-job training (OJT) and all work is performed in explosive handling areas. You will work under direct supervision, weighing and pressing inert & energetic materials, and setting up and using an analytical balance. Responsibilities include performing inert assembly operations, minor cabling, potting, tinning, and assembly work. You will also set up and use a powder press, and possess some minor set-up capability for specific equipment. Basic soldering experience may be required. The role involves performing various production assembly operations on components and subassemblies, using visual aids, drawings, and written/verbal instructions to assemble, modify, re-work, or re-assemble units, receiving detailed instruction on new assignments. You will install sub-assemblies and must display proficient dexterity for the safe handling of explosive devices. If required, you will attend offsite training classes to maintain certification requirements (e.g., JSTD) and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Able to work under direct supervision.
  • Must have the ability to understand, speak, read and write in English.
  • US citizenship is a requirement for this position due to U.S. Government contractual requirements.
  • The essential duties of this position require adherence to U.S. Government export control regulations. Accordingly, candidates must either be U.S. Persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) or be prepared to collaborate with the company in securing the necessary U.S. government export authorizations.

Responsibilities

  • If required, attend offsite training classes to maintain certification requirements. (i.e., JSTD).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
