About The Position

As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in operations and the assembly process. This role provides on-the-job training (OJT) and involves working in explosive handling areas. You will perform various production assembly operations on components and subassemblies, using visual aids, drawings, and written/verbal instructions. The position requires proficient dexterity for the safe handling of explosive devices and may involve attending offsite training classes to maintain certification requirements.

Requirements

Able to work under direct supervision.
Must have the ability to understand, speak, read and write in English.
US citizenship is a requirement for this position due to U.S. Government contractual requirements.

Nice To Haves

1 year industry assembly work preferred
Soldering experience preferred

Responsibilities

Work under direct supervision.
Weigh and press inert & energetic materials.
Set up and use analytical balance.
Perform inert assembly operations.
Minor cabling, potting, tinning and assembly work.
Set up and use powder press for pressing operation.
Some minor set-up capability for specific equipment.
May have some basic soldering experience.
Performs various production assembly operations on components and subassemblies.
Uses visual aids, drawings and verbal and written instruction to assemble, modify, re-work or re-assemble units. Receives detailed instruction on new assignments.
Install sub-assemblies.
Must display proficient dexterity to insure safe handling of explosive devices.
All work is performed in explosive handling areas.
If required, attend offsite training classes to maintain certification requirements. (i.e., JSTD).
Perform other duties as assigned.
